Kids Green Events
Thanks to Jen Hughes and Mark McDonald who spent their honeymoon, running our first “pilot” Gower Wilderness Course on their private woodland retreat in Bishopston.
16 children, aged 8-16 had a fantastic time playing games, building shelters, learning about sustainable living, making dream catchers, cooking in the outdoors and many, many other things. They all loved the teepees, especially when it rained and they took to telling outrageous jokes and stories under canvas.
Luke Waller, aged 9 said it was the best thing he had ever done and everyone seemed to think it was a great way to spend the last week of the summer holidays.
Everyone survived without their game boys, I-pods and computers although the girls from Bristol did rush home to watch Hollyoaks on the last day ……
Special thanks to Roy Riley, a wonderful photographer who spent a day with us on his way to London for an important photo shoot. The kids loved him and his images can be seen on our gallery page.
Another Gower Wilderness Course is being planned for the Autumn half-term week, starting on Monday 22 October 06 for children aged 8-14. The cost will be £30 per child and the course will run from 10.00 am 4.00 pm. Places can be booked on a daily basis. And accommodation can be booked at The Winston Hotel for families for as little as £35 per person per night. Please ring us for more details on 07970 059869.
